The Fisherman’s Hut

Used as an exhibition space and more recently (by me) as a studio space. Thanks to Dunwich Town Trust.

Location: Dunwich, Suffolk.

In this post I’ll just share the location for my recent journey…followed by (if you’re interested in more) the highs and lows…

I’ve known Dunwich all my life and aware of the stories, a city lost to the sea.

It’s a village located on the Suffolk coast of England, known for its rich medieval heritage and picturesque scenery.

Once a thriving port and the capital of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of East Anglia, much of Dunwich has eroded into the sea due to coastal erosion.

Today, it features a mix of ruins, including the remnants of St. James’ Church, and offers a tranquil atmosphere with beautiful landscapes, making it a popular destination for visitors interested in history and nature.

The nearby Dunwich Heath is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, known for its diverse wildlife and stunning coastal views.
