At Last…

Reduction Linocut Print
Echinacea Purpurea

Going from having a sketch of an idea in my mind to then not quite sure how I’m going to create it: all about the journey.

My love of the unexpected outcomes in printmaking is what holds my interest. Pushing the boundaries of overlapping ink gradients to a painterly finish. Will the previous layer peer through?

When this grey was printed over yellow, the yellow did shine through in places

While developing an image in one direction, I’m usually working on ideas in parallel such as monotypes, pattern making, colour mixing…the endless spin offs from every decision made. It’s exciting, the process I mean. It keeps me connected.
