Finding Peace

This is one of three large paintings from my Whispering Reflections series

Finding Peace
(4ft x 3ft)

As the light plays across the surface in my studio, I realise that this static image doesn’t do the image justice. How easy it would be at this point to wrap it up and pack it away. Yet I understand that I am within its very fabric of development and outcome. I cannot shy away from the possibility that the image may bring joy to another so here I shall share it.

Finding Peace by Susan Whatling £1,140

Finding Peace was created from applying many thin layers , varying degrees of pigment and glazing medium.

Acrylic paint dries swiftly so initial layering and blending techniques develop in accordance with their properties.

Each glaze applied however requires to be left alone for a day so as not to disturb the delicate nuance of translucent colour and light.

These series of paintings started as a meditative exercise giving purpose to each day with the aim of extending a consistent approach to pacing during chronic illness. It’s been a delicate dance as it has also been with each painting layer.

Life is the breath; inhale, exhale each moment a step on our journey…it’s possible peace can be found within our moments. Life in my experience though needs room to flow through all emotions…

I wish you peaceful moments.
